Help Keep us going!
Unfortunately due to the amount of dogs we currently have, and the large number of them needing extra care that will be with us for a long period of time, we are unable to take anymore dogs in at this time. It pains us to turn dogs away, but with no space, and low funds, we must focus on the dogs currently in our care. We are always happy to help in any way we can, and hope everyone can understand our situation.
Our mission is to rescue the unwanted and misunderstood Bully breeds(Pit Bulls, Stafford-shire Terriers, Bull Terriers, Rottweilers, Dobermans, Bulldogs, Mastiffs, etc). However, will not turn away any dog in need, regardless of the breed. We provide shelter, food, medical attention, and training to all abandoned, neglected and injured dogs brought to us by the community or rescued from euthanasia or a shelter. We are also dedicated to educating about the humane care of dogs with a goal of reducing overpopulation.
Please donate to our care!!
These dogs were removed from a horrible hoarding case in Harrison County, Ohio. There were almost 100 animals on the property, and we were asked to take 5 Pit Bulls/Pit Mixes. All 5 dogs are very sweet, and have the potential to be fantastic family pets with some time, patience, TLC, socialization, and vet care. 3 of the 5 have heartworm and will need treatment and lots of meds, and the other 2 have skin infections.
You can donate through paypal at the link below, to their YouCaring fund at the link below, or directly to the vet at Metz Petz in Shawnee 419-991-0755 under Open Hearts Bully Rescue.
We are also in need of donations of dog food (Red Flannel from Laymens Feed supply in Lima or Iams greed bag), pill pockets, and blankets for these 5.
Wags and Kisses!
Ares, Volcun, Hera, Hermes, & Perses
Hera, Perces, and Volcun are finished with their heartworm treatment and will hopefully be moved out of boarding soon.
Hermes still has bad skin and ear infections and has not been able to be vaccinated yet. He had to have 14 teeth pulled, and is still being treated for his skin and ears.
Ares also has some type of skin infection that we are working hard to get cleared up.
We have thousands of dollars of boarding and vet bills for these 5 dogs that we are working hard to pay off, and 4 of them still need spayed/neutered.
Ares is neutered, and will be graduating Basic Obedience this week, and we hope will be able to pass the Canine Good Citizen test. He will be ready for his forever home soon!
Hermes has a great personality and now that his skin issues are cleared up he is quite spunky and after a little more work will be ready for his forever home very soon!
Hera, Volcun and Percy go back to the vet on August 4th to get retested for Heartworm, as long as they are negative they will be getting spayed/neutered on August 12th. Volcun has gone through one session of Basic Obedience and is doing well meeting other dogs, but he will be repeating class to work more on his listening skills, as well as working on his dog skills and getting him stable with other dogs. Percy and Hera will also be attending obedience classes to work on socialization, and their manners.
Volcun and Percy were neutered a couple weeks ago and are doing great! They still need some work on behaviors and socializing before they are available for adoption, but have made strides in the 6 months they have been with us.
Ares graduated is Basic Obedience class and was able to pass the Canine Good Citizen test(new owners will have to retest to make it official) and he will be available for adoption very soon!!
Hera is coming to the end of a false pregnancy, and UTI, and will be going to our vet to be spayed on September 10, which will most likely be on the costly side because we will be doing blood work, and extras to ensure her safety and health.
Please consider donating to their care!!
